Producers
Identify who makes the product and who is entitled to participate.
GI readiness is collective work: identify a qualifying product–place relationship, organise the producer community, build the evidence and agree the specification and controls.

A GI is not an individual maker badge. Producers in the defined area who comply with the specification must be able to use the protected name. Readiness therefore requires governance, boundaries, evidence, controls and a credible route for verification.
ACA’s directory can record emerging product–place relationships, but listing is not statutory protection.
