C.3Prepare for assessment

Define the work. Prepare the evidence.

Before an assessment can begin, the applicant must identify the work, field and assessment boundary and provide records showing the materials, making process and consequential practitioner decisions.

Scope / process / evidence

Preparation is useful before applications open.

Prepare the applicant and contact details; field of practice; product, batch, line or controlled process to be assessed; production locations; material or ingredient records; process stages; tools and technologies; practitioner responsibilities; quality controls; supporting images or records; and any applicable cultural protocols.

The Craftsmanship Star Rating remains a proposed programme. No live assessment application is represented on this site. Practitioners, ateliers and enterprises can submit a clearly labelled programme enquiry or expression of interest while field criteria, assessor arrangements, terms and evidence-handling processes are developed.
